DESIGN AS EXPERIENCE

For our director, Idan Gilony, it has never been limited to objects. It is a way of shaping how people meet, gather, and experience the world around them.

Coming from a multidisciplinary practice spanning fashion, spatial design, art direction, and hospitality, Gilony's work explores the relationship between material, atmosphere, and human connection. Whether through a fragrance, a table setting, an exhibition, or an immersive event, his projects invite moments of presence - where design becomes experience rather than decoration.

Berlin, 2014

A fashion label & creative collective.

In 2014, Idan Gilony, together with his business partners Fanny and Chris, founded UY Studio in Berlin as an independent fashion label and creative collective. What began with a small collection of T-shirts soon evolved into a platform for collaboration, bringing together artists, designers, musicians, and cultural practitioners shaped by the city's creative energy.

Defined by a restrained visual language and an enduring belief in community, UY established itself as a distinctive voice within Berlin's contemporary design landscape.

EXPANDING THE WORLD OF UY

As both founder and Creative Director, Gilony has since guided UY beyond fashion into a multidisciplinary design studio dedicated to fragrance, objects, interiors, and cultural experiences.

His practice is driven by the belief that design has the power to shape how people feel, connect, and remember.

Every object, space, and gathering is conceived as part of a larger narrative - creating immersive experiences that engage all the senses and transform everyday moments into meaningful encounters. Whether through a public installation, a dinner, an exhibition, or a carefully crafted object, Gilony's vision is to redefine immersive experiences, where design becomes a catalyst for connection, curiosity, and contemporary culture.

UY is a Berlin-based fragrance and design studio creating niche perfumes and minimalist design objects for intentional living.

Our fragrances are developed around mood, memory, and atmosphere rather than trends. Each scent is built with a clear character, balancing freshness, warmth, depth, and restraint.
